Introduction

My art is my unique expression of what I see before me and when I paint en Plein Air I am aiming to capture the essence of the moment regarding light and atmosphere.

My Work

Irish landscapes are my speciality although this is informed of a lifetime of seeing, painting and drawing. I have spend almost a decade living in Paris and in that time travelled through out France and visited many of the impressionists painting locations to sketch and paint. 

My work is also informed by a decade of living in London where many a lost hour was spent in front of the contemporary greats to be found in Tate Modern and Tate Britain.

Approach

I approach my work with the aim of producing a unique contemporary perspective on the Plein Air tradition informed by the great impressionists. Therefore, my style and technique is mainly a la  prima done en Plein Air, a direct style done on the spot battling the elements of the Irish weather.
